You have to checkout the Haliburton Forest for their one of a kind Canopy Tour experience. The entire tour takes about 3.5-4 hours and includes:

  • canoe ride across a wilderness lake
  • guided walk along the Pelaw River Rapids

4. Balm Beach

Travel time from Barrie: Approx. 45 mins

Balm Beach is an adorable little getaway spot located in Tiny Township. Pack a cooler and grab your pals because you can easily spend an entire day soaking up the sunshine here. Balm Beach is a nice, smaller alternative to Wasaga Beach.

While you’re there, treat yourself to a tasty snack or refreshing drink with a great view on the patio at Balm Beach Bar and Smokehouse.

5. Inglis Falls & Indian Falls

Travel time from Barrie: Approx. 1 hr 45 mins

If you’re a waterfall fanatic, you most definitely have to cross these two off your list. They are a bit of a trek outside of Barrie, but if you want to make a day of it you can stop in at Blue Mountain Village along your way.

The two waterfalls are about 15 minutes apart from each other and easily accessible from the parking lot. We think the views are perfection but you’ll have to go see for yourself!
