Driver Stopped, Charged Before He Got To RIDE Check

On his way to a RIDE check last night a South Simcoe Police officer passed a vehicle with a front seat passenger drinking alcohol.
When he stopped the vehicle it appeared the driver had also been drinking.
A breath test was administered and the presence of alcohol detected in violation of a probation order. The driver was charged accordingly.
The passenger was charged with having an open container of liquor.
