Alliston man cuffed, stolen items recovered, after victims spot their stuff for sale online

Police remind you to clearly mark your possessions so they can be more easily identified

A young Alliston man is facing a dozen criminal charges after someone spotted an online sale featuring familiar-looking items..

The South Simcoe Police Service says there was a series of tool thefts from construction sites in Innisfil and Barrie, most recently last Tuesday and Wednesday. The victims discovered their stolen tools were being sold online and contacted the police.

Investigators zeroed in on a home in Alliston where a 20-year-old man was arrested and a number of stolen items were recovered. The suspect faces charges including theft and trafficking in stolen goods.

The South Simcoe Police Service reminds everyone to mark their property, so it can be more easily identified in the event of a theft.
