Barrie Gets A Digital Grant From The Province

City receives a $40,000 grant from Digital Main Street, a Government of Ontario Program

City of Barrie receiving a $40,000 grant from the Province.

The Digital Main Street money will help fund a Digital Service Squad to assist main street small businesses learn and adopt digital tools and processes to better evolve and grow.


“Digital Service Squads will help to modernize businesses in Barrie and make them more competitive. The training will also provide them with the tools to take advantage of new digital opportunities that will help our local businesses to grow.”

Nearly 500 independently-owned businesses on Dunlop Street, Bayfield Street, Essa Road, and the downtown Barrie district are eligible to receive training.

The Squad will operate from August 2019 to March 2020.
