Bridget’s Run Raises over $28 Thousand

Funds Support Families Suffering Pregnancy Loss

A run supporting women and families experiencing pregnancy loss has raised $28,842.

The second annual Bridget’s Run was held last month to raise funds in support of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre’s (RVH) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Obstetrics Bereavement Program and Bridget’s Bunnies.

Bridget’s Bunnies is a charity created by Barrie couple Mat and Theresa Morrison in honour of their daughter Bridget who was stillborn. The charity provides comfort kits to families experiencing loss. The kits include items such as blankets, memory makers and information on resources they can seek out when ready.

One hundred and thirteen kits have been provided to families since their initiative was launched in September 2018.

Mat Morrison says “Bridget’s Run is more than a fundraiser, it is families coming together to celebrate and remember their babies. Their participation will help future patients who have to say goodbye to their baby too soon know they are not alone.”
