Two men and women from Barrie taken in by police in months-long investigation

Four from Barrie among five facing charges in a human trafficking investigation.

One of the accused, according to police, is a mother who took money from a victim with the full knowledge that it resulted from her work in the sex trade.

Police have laid 36 combined charges against two men, ages 28 and 27, and a pair of women, ages 38 and 54. A 30 year old Toronto man was also taken in.

Three of the arrests happened following a pair of search warrants in May. The other two were taken in last month.

Police say that they are concerned that there could be additional victims out there.
