Late game surge leads Steelheads past Colts

Steelheads score 4 goals in span of 5 minutes to knock off Colts 5-4

The Barrie Colts couldn’t hold a 4-1 lead late in the third period against the Mississauga Steelheads, surrendering four goals in the span of five minutes en route to a 5-4 loss.

Alan Lyszczarczyk helped the charge for the Steelheads, collecting two goals and an assist. Cole Schwindt found the back of the net twice, including the game winner, as part of a our point afternoon.

Aidan Brown, Riley Piercey, Tyson Foerster and Ryan Suzuki replied for the Colts, who finish the campaign with a 26-38-3-1 record.

42-29 were the final shots on goal in favour of the Steelheads as Jacob Ingham picks up the win with 25 saves; Kai Edmonds stops 37 shots in the loss.

The Colts graduate one player, winger Ben Hawerchuk. He was held pointless, registered 5 shots on goal and 2 penalty minutes in his last game in junior hockey.
