Cops Lay Pair Of Drunk Driving Charges in Collingwood

It Took Police About 24 Hours To Catch Two Accused of Being Drunk Behind the Wheel

A pair of drunk driving charges laid in the Collingwood area in as many days.

The OPP say an officer on patrol had reason to pull a vehicle over around 10:30 on the night of March 29th, along Simcoe Street near Napier Street. In speaking to the driver, police say it was clear he’d been drinking, and was asked to step out of the vehicle. It’s reported he became uncooperative and a struggle ensued, along with a brief foot pursuit. The 29-year-old Collingwood man was taken into custody shortly after, facing a number of charges including Drunk Driving and Resisting arrest.

Just over 24 hours later, police say a call came in of a vehicle that went into the ditch along Grey Road 19 near Monterra Rd. in The Blue Mountains. Police arrived to find a woman allegedly under the influence of alcohol. The 62-year-old from Etobicoke was charged appropriately.
