Eight people arrested in Orillia drug investigation

Search warrants executed at two residences

Ontario Provincial Police executed search warrants at two Orillia residences and arrested eight people, and seized cocaine and Canadian currency.

The raids were carried out in the early hours of Apr. 30 at a residence on West Street and the other on an apartment on Mississauga Street.

Four people from Orillia and two from the GTA, including a 17-year-old from North York, have been charged with trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The other two individuals who were not charged were released.
