North Simcoe Victim Services Silent Auction
October 27 @ 8:00 am - November 10 @ 5:00 pm
The first North Simcoe Victim Services (NSVS) Silent Auction kicked off October 27. And it’s different from many auctions as the key items up for grabs are unique experiences catered to people in Orillia and area.
The online event aims to raise crucial funds for NSVS’s client expense budget. Last year we assisted over 1,600 individuals in our community. Since the beginning of the pandemic, our calls for service have tripled in volume and our expenses have risen accordingly. However, our budget has not kept pace, leaving the NSVS with a significant shortfall in funding to assist victims of crime, tragic circumstance and disaster.
NSVS deploys specially trained volunteers to assist with a victim’s immediate needs and provide referrals to existing community services if longer-term care required.
The fundraising goal for the auction is $15,000. You can find it at by clicking here!
There are a lot of fun things that you wouldn’t normally be able to do or buy as well as gift certificates to local businesses up for grabs. Some of the unique items include: a five-course progressive dinner for 6, a chance to ride in a fire truck during the Santa Claus parade, a meet and greet with the OPP’s Emergency Response Team and K-9 Unit, a half day with the OPP’s Marine Unit, a round of golf with Chief of Rama First Nation Ted Williams, a tour and lunch for two at Queen’s Park with Simcoe North MPP Jill Dunlop, a tour of the House of Commons and lunch with MP Adam Chambers, an opportunity to be the conductor of the Orillia Concert Band and other unique, local experiences.
If you would like more information or have an item you’d like to donate to the auction, you can reach NSVS by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
