DESCRIPTION:Take me out to the ball game! \nWe are pleased to announce our 2nd annual Home Runs for the Hungry charity baseball event will be held on May 4 at Vintage Throne Stadium at 2 p.m. \nThis is our signature event of the year and helps to keep our shelves stocked throughout the lean summer months. \nThis celebrity event mixes Barrie Baycat players\, past and present\, with top notch athletes from other sports (including the Barrie Colts!)\, and local celebrities with a passion to reduce hunger in Barrie\, in a fun game of 7-inning baseball. \nHosted by Ward 2 Councillor Craig Nixon and Baycats President Josh Matlow\, the game will be produced and televised live on Rogers TV. \nTicket prices are $10 each\, with kids under 12 free\, and can be purchased here: \nhttps://www.barriefoodbank.org/home-runs-for-the-hungry/. \nThere will be a 50/50 draw\, courtesy of United Way Simcoe Muskoka.  Tickets are $5 ea and can be purchased here: \nhttps://www.rafflebox.ca/raffle/uwc-sm \nThere will be door prizes\, between innings entertainment and even a best costume prize for those who show up in their Star Wars costume. After all\, it is on May The Fourth! \nLocal celebs who will be stepping up to bat and swinging for the fences include: \n\nBarrie Colts Shamar Moses\, Riley Patterson and Jack Brauti\nRock 95 on-air personalities Ben McCully and Bryan Flannery\nKoolFM on-air personality Matt Miller\nGary “Big Daddy" Goodridge - former UFC mixed martial arts camp and Super Heavyweight Boxing Camp of Canada\nGarvin Lewis - World ranking Arm Wrestling Champion\nSpecial Olympics champion athlete Kyle Shuttleworth\nCTV Barrie personalities KC Colby\, Sarah Freemark and Dana Roberts\nMayor Alex Nutall and his pinch hitter Rob Thomson\nDeputy Chief of Police Rob Burke\nBarrie’s own Poet Laurette Ty Thomas\na ton of city councillors\, MP's and MPP's like Craig Nixon\, Sergio Morales\, Ann-Marie Kungl\, Hon. Andrea Khanjin\, Hon John Brassard\nlocal singer Kat Chabot with the Simcoe Youth Choir will be singing the anthem\nand more being announced daily!\n\nBut wait\, that’s not all!  The first 500 attendees get a gift certificate for a free Chick-Fil-A sandwich! \nAttendees are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to help us restock our shelves for the spring & summer. \nDon't miss out!
