SUMMARY:The Bowie Lives at Midland Cultural Centre
DESCRIPTION:https://www.tickettailor.com/events/midlandculturalcentre/1203089? \nIMMEDIATE RELEASE\nTHE BOWIE LIVES: A BOWIE SPECTACULAR - Canada's Sensational Tribute to David Bowie\, performs Sunday November 24th at 730pm\nat Midland Cultural Centre 333 King Street Midland\nPRESENTED BY: Blackrose Entertainment\nTICKETS ARE ON SALE NOW\nhttps://www.tickettailor.com/events/midlandculturalcentre/1203089? \nSo what is “The Bowie Lives? www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcjjUehwk7E \n“The show was just fantastic! Michael Bell sounded more like Bowie than Bowie! The musicians were stellar and on top of their game. The choreography fit nicely with the delivery. Michael's presentation was right on point... the full house loved the 'call and answer' segments and took part in the Show. And\, there were even some audience members that dressed in costume and danced in the aisles!” ~ Pat Porter Radio Personality 4680 Q. \n“Saw the show last night in Toronto and was blown away. Was a little apprehensive at first as I have been a Bowie fan since I was a teen and I was concerned the band may not do the songs justice. I was overwhelmingly thrilled at what I heard and saw\, from the first note I was hooked. The biggest takeaway is you can tell the lead singer is truly a devoted fan himself. Loved the way you honored David Bowie. Hope to see you in Toronto again real soon!” \nWhat the industry has to say…\n“5 Stars! Unbelievable! I could have watched them for two more hours!” says Richard Crouse\, CTV News\, CP24\, NewsTalk1010\, and Host of CTV PopLife. \n“By far\, the best & coolest Bowie Tribute I’ve seen!” says\nSam Grosso\,of Cadillac Productions. \n“As close as it gets!” says MusikMirage.com \nThey’re all talking about the “The Bowie Lives” A Bowie Spectacular-Canada’s Sensational Tribute to David Bowie! Michael Bell is an award-winning vocalist who channels the sound and styles of David Bowie\, and with the help of an all-star band\, our multimedia\, a theater\, and costumes\, he has captured the imagination of fans young and old. \nMichael discovered Bowie as a teen and performed songs with a number of his early bands. By the 80’s his first theatrical production “ChangesAllBowie” toured the “A circuit” before hanging up his “Ziggy” in the early ’90s. Decades passed. After David’s untimely death on January 10\, 2016\, Michael’s calling returned; his calling to honor the man who helped shape his life. Together with musical director Michael Beauclerc\, they began auditioning players to fill out a band capable of performing some of Rock’s most challenging material. The Bowie Lives bring all hits to the stage; Space Oddity to Lazarus\, and everything in between. \nThe Bowie Lives PRE-SHOW includes the Bowie Bazaar; T-shirts\, collectibles\, LPs and DVDs\, and more. Come dressed as your favorite David Bowie persona or wear your favorite swag and be rewarded!\nDon’t forget to grab a button! \nMichael is also the subject of an upcoming documentary film “Being David Bowie”\nand an upcoming web series “The Bowie Lives.” \nMore info at www.thebowielives.com or Twitter/Instagram/Facebook/thebowielives

SUMMARY:YukYuks StandUp Comedy in Barrie With Casey Corbin!
DESCRIPTION:Headliner CASEY CORBIN\nEven in a pandemic\, Casey has managed to keep his career moving forward. In January of 2021 he appeared in the Just For Laughs produced Humour Resources with Jon Dore. Also in the episode were the Lucas Brothers and Nikki Glaser. The show aired nationwide on CBC. Now it can be seen streaming on CBC Gem. With 4 comedy albums on Spotify\, Casey had a breakthrough year as a Spotify Artist. Here are some of his Spotify numbers \nListeners: 108.5k\, Streams: 360.3k\, Hours: 16.2k\, and was heard in 88 countries. \nPre-pandemic (2017-2019) The last few years have been fantastic for Casey Corbin. With highlights that include performing at a sold-out National Arts Centre in Ottawa\, Canada opening for Mr. D himself\, Gerry Dee. Having a 9-show run at Just For Laughs Toronto festival\, JFL 42. This included 4 sold-out shows at the Royal Theatre sharing the stage with friend Rory Scovel and one time with a surprise special guest\, Amy Schumer. Worked with his comedy hero\, the late great Norm MacDonald for 6 sold-out shows in Calgary. Opening for Canadian comedy legend Ron James. As well as competing in the 8th annual Brantford Comedy Festival and winning its grand prize of $10\,000. If that wasn’t enough\, he launched a wrestling/ comedy podcast with Never Sleeps Network that airs weekly on iTunes/Spotify titled Talk’N Wrestling. \nBefore 2017 Casey Corbin had accomplished plenty. An hour special on the Comedy Network\, The Comedy Network Presents: Casey Corbin Comedy Now\, Uncensored. Along with that is a half-hour special that aired on CTV called Comedy Now. He’s also been seen on CBC’s Halifax Comedyfest and even Comedy At Club 54. (but that was a long time ago) \nHe’s a regular on SiriusXM Just For Laughs Canada and has also been heard on CBC One on Laugh Out Loud. He has performed at the 25th Anniversary of Just For Laughs and toured with them in support of Harland Williams on his 2005 Tasty Treats Tour. \nMC Danish Anwar\nDanish Anwar’s comedy resume is so thick that the Kardashians are suing for copyright. He is an award-winning comedian and a trendsetting producer\, known for selling out shows worldwide at venues like the iconic Comedy Store in LA\, the ultra-cool Tokyo Comedy Bar in Japan where he’s a recurring favourite\, and the prestigious National Arts Centre in Ottawa. He has worked with comedy titans like Dave Attell\, Russell Peters and Paul Provenza and performed at major festivals like Just For Laughs\, ZOOFEST\, and the Magners International Comedy Festival in Bangkok. He’s also the founder of the comedy label Toronto Comedy All Stars\, and was featured in an award-winning documentary about comedy called ” Stand Up Toronto ”. Danish possesses an impressively wide range of comedy\, spanning everything from fully uncensored roasts to corporate clean shows\, such as writing on CBC shows such as Because News\, The Debaters and Laugh Out Loud\, and creating the global roast battle sensation Your Hood’s A Joke\, which plays in LA\, NYC\, Tokyo\, Winnipeg and Toronto with expansions in Barcelona and Amsterdam in 2023. \nFeaturing DK Phan\nPeople often ask – what does DK stand for? DK stands for honour\, respect\, discipline\, and a good work ethic. But mostly I just tell jokes and do voices. I went to Ryerson University for IT\, graduated\, got an IT job\, and spent a lot of my adult life telling people to try turning their computers off and on again – on a professional level. A couple months into my first tech job\, I realized that this wasn’t the career for me\, so I only stuck with it for 12 more years before leaving the industry to freelance as a voice talent and stand-up comic. For over 10 years\, I’ve performed comedy all across North America. Over the course of my career\, I’ve played stages including Absolute Comedy\, Rose Theatre\, Rogers TV\, showcased for the Just for Laughs festival and produced shows throughout the GTA. I have a professional home studio where I record and edit corporate eLearning and explainer voiceovers – sparing clients from death by PowerPoint. With my technical background and past experience working with kids\, I can make turning your computer off and on again sound engaging to 7th graders (or whatever you call your sys admins). That’s my autobiography. In case you’re still wondering\, DK Phan is short for Dang Khoa Huynh-Phan but the .com for that was taken.
