Fire tears through Collingwood eatery, displaces residents of five apartments

Nobody was hurt after a fire at the Olde Red Hen.

Collingwood Fire was called to the restaurant on Hurontario Street around 3:30 Thursday morning with reports of a fire there. Five apartments above the restaurant were evacuated as a result of the fire. No injuries have been reported.

Fire Chief Ross Parr says damage is estimated at a million dollars.

Collingwood Fire has yet to determine a cause, but the Office of the Fire Marshall has been called in to assist in the investigation.
