Foster Care Gets A Boost From Nottawasaga Inn

One in 182 children in Ontario is in the care of Children’s Aid SocietY

The future a little brighter for kids in foster care.

Nottawasaga Inn Resort and Conference centre has donated $5000 to the Child Welfare Political Action Committee, a not-for-profit organization made up of former youth in care. Its members using their own life experiences to improve the lives of others.

Research over four decades paints a continually bleak future for foster kids.

“We believe that the key to better futures for Ontario’s most vulnerable youth is a system that is evidence-based, outcomes focused, trauma-informed, and respects the privacy rights of youth who have aged-out of care”
– Jane Kovarikova, founder of the Child Welfare PAC and a former youth-in-care in Simcoe

The Child Welfare PAC is entirely volunteer-run and relies on private donations to operate. This funding will go directly to activities supporting policy and legislative changes that will systematically improve life outcomes for youth raised in care.
