Thanksgiving is sneaking up on us and the Barrie Food Bank is trying to make sure everyone is well fed.
They’re just over a week into their Thanksgiving food drive, sitting at 20-thousand pounds of food.
Executive Director Peter Sundborg says they still have a long way to go before they reach their 150-thousand pound goal for the month.
Sundborg says they have some critical weeks coming up where they hope to see substantial donations come in.
The food bank raises around 1-million pounds of food a year, with 600- thousand of that collected between October and January.
Sundborg says the donations they get over the next three months are hoped to carry them through the rest of the year.
Donations can be made at grocery stores throughout the city. Monetary donations can also be made in person at the Barrie Food Bank at 42 Anne St S or online at https://www.barriefoodbank.org/donating/
