Peel Regional Police issued the warning on their Twitter account after seeing the message, with a link to click on to claim a refund.
It’s a scam they warn, noting Service Ontario does not send refunds via text message.
When the Ford government announced last week it would be refunding sticker fees paid over the last two years, it made it clear those refunds would be mailed out, in the form of a cheque, beginning at the end of March.
