Local Skaters Off To Europe, Launching Skating For Young Heroes

The students will compete in Poland this month and France in September

A pair of 16-year-olds from Innisdale Secondary School are getting on a plane to strut their stuff.

Olivia Oliver (left) and Joshua Andari will compete for Poland in the ISU Junior Grand Prix Figure Skating events in Courchevel, France and Gdansk, Poland.

Olivia, who has dual citizenship, was born in Poland but lives with her family in Barrie.

Josh is from Chatham but moved to Barrie six months ago.

The pair are aiming to qualify for the World Junior Championships being held in Tallinn, Estonia next March.

Olivia and Josh are also launching Skating for Young Heroes

10 sick kids and their families will be invited to Poland to watch the pair perform, have a professional photo session and be presented with their wish gifts.
