A project to help homeless and at risk women feel valued has launched for another holiday season.
The Shoebox Project donates decorated shoe boxes stuffed with luxury items to charities across Simcoe County and Simcoe- Grey County.
Organizer Shannon Murree says the unsealed shoe box must be filled with around $50 worth of items, ranging from nice shampoos, cozy socks, nail polish, lipstick, and gift cards. Once completed it can be dropped off at one of their drop off locations.
Murree says the charity is a national project but the donations are kept at the local level and all the donations stay in the community.
The drive is underway now until December 6th.
