Misconduct Allegations Levied Against Simcoe County Teacher

Educator faces allegations he made sexually suggestive comments to students and colleagues

A Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board teacher is due in court to answer to charges of misconduct.

The educator will be brought before an Ontario College of Teachers disciplinary panel in October to face allegations he made sexually suggestive comments to students and colleagues.

The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board cannot comment on employees or former employees due to privacy concerns. However, our board always takes matters of professional misconduct extremely seriously and we work in cooperation with authorities and/or the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) to ensure issues and allegations are dealt with appropriately. Our students and teachers must feel safe and secure at school and we are committed to providing a harassment-free work/school environment. When faced with an Ontario College of Teachers disciplinary case, our Board will await the panel’s decision and fully comply with their recommendations and sanctions.

Reports indicate the teacher works at at Collingwood’s Jean Vanier High School.

The hearings are scheduled for October 22nd and 23rd.
