October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Help create a future without breast cancer
While breast cancer is the most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death in Canada, more people are surviving a breast cancer diagnosis than ever before partly thanks to the efforts made during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
With 9 out of 10 women surviving at least 5 years past their diagnosis, we are on the right track, but there is still much work to be done. There are a number of ways to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month including donating to life-saving research, organizing a virtual fundraiser, or buying a gift from the Canadian Cancer Society’s website. You could also take a queue from one of Barrie’s local brewery by showing your support in a unique way like Redlines Brewhouse who changed their red logo a pink one!
