Oro Medonte Deputy Mayor’s BBQ Raises Thousands For Orillia Hospital

Fourth Annual Event Successful Despite The Rain

A recent community BBQ has helped put over four grand towards Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital.

Oro-Medonte Deputy Mayor Scott Jermey’s fourth annual Community BBQ saw more than 1000 locals brave the rain to attend the event, something that Marina Genua, OSMH Foundation’s Development Officer of Annual Giving was pleasantly surprised about. “The turnout was incredible,” said Genua. “Scott and his team of volunteers did such a great job putting on this event and raising money for the Hospital.”

“Despite the downpour, we had a great outpouring of support for the Hospital,” said Jermey. “We’re so thankful to everyone who came out and to all the volunteers at Rugby Community Hall who made the event possible.”

The funds came from donations made by charitable BBQ-goers and will go toward purchasing much-needed equipment for the Hospital.
