Police, paramedics use Narcan to revive man at Wasaga Beach

Victim was found unconscious on motel room floor

OPP and Simcoe County Paramedics at Wasaga Beach used Narcan to help a man regain consciousness after he was found on the floor of a motel room near Mosley Street and Tenth Street South.

Police say the man was found motionless, displaying signs of an opioid overdose, including difficulty breathing and pale skin. It’s believed he had purchased and consumed illicit drugs laced with Fentanyl. Fentanyl and its derivatives are often used as a mixing agent within other illicit drugs, putting the public and police at risk.

Narcan, a medication designed to rapidly reverse an opioid overdose, was used in an attempt to save the man’s life. He regained consciousness and was transported to a local hospital for assessment.
