Provincial Liberals Confirm Date To Pick New Leader

The Liberal Party of Ontario will elect a new leader on March 7th 2020.

Before that party members will determine the method for selecting a chief to lead them into the 2022 election against Premier Doug Ford’s Progressive Conservatives.

Some 1,000 Liberal delegates voted to stick with a delegated convention to choose its new leader. One member, one vote was also on the table, similar to how the Tories and other parties choose their leaders.

Interim Liberal leader John Fraser was one of just seven members to be elected in the last provincial vote.
