Dominik Adamek Was Struck and Killed in Early May

A suspect has been charged in connection to a fatal Springwater hit and run.

The OPP say a 30-year-old Newmarket suspect has been arrested and charged, after a lengthy nine-month investigation into a May, 2018 hit and run. The incident claimed the life of 28-year-old Dominik Adamek.

The suspect faces a criminal charge of Fail To Stop at the Scene of a Fatal Accident.

“By their very nature, fail to remain investigations are difficult to conclude successfully.” says the Huronia West OPP Detachment Commander,  Inspector Phillip Browne, “I’m proud of our local members’ dedication and collaboration with the OPP Case Manager to bring this charge forward and provide some resolution to the victim’s family and our community.”

The province is offering $50,000 for information leading to a conviction in connection to the death of Dominik Adamek.

Police say Adamek was walking along County Road 53 in Springwater sometime after 4:00 on the morning of May 5th, and was struck and killed by a vehicle.

It has since been determined the vehicle was a dark Grey 2011-2013 Toyota Corolla. It sustained significant damage to the passenger side headlight, passenger side front bumper and passenger side door and window.
