Spring forward to Daylight Saving Time this weekend

Check your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, too

Could this weekend be the last time we move the clocks forward to Daylight Saving Time?

The Ontario government passed legislation last fall to make Daylight Time permanent, but only when Quebec and New York State agree to do the same. Among the benefits of ending the twice-yearly change is the added daylight at the end of the day which many believe promotes more consumerism.

The switch to Daylight Time happens at 2 a.m. Sunday.

In addition to changing your clocks, firefighters hope you will switch out the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, and check the date on the units and replace any that have expired.
