26,000 were expected to attend the conference

A Sudbury man, who attended a recent conference in Toronto, is Ontario’s 37th confirmed case of Covid-19.

Five of those cases have been cleared.

Public Health Sudbury & Districts announced Tuesday night the man, in his 50s, presented himself to the emergency department at Health Sciences North on March 7. He complained of a cough and shortness of breath.

Following testing, he was discharged home where he remains in self-isolation

The man had attended the PDAC (Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada) 2020 convention in Toronto March 2 and 3 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. As many as 26,000 people from 132 countries were expected to attend the conference.
