Suzuki Joins Svechnikov In North Carolina

Colts centre selected in the 1st Round by the Carolina Hurricanes

Ryan Suzuki and Andrei Svechnikov will be teammates again.

With the 28th pick in the NHL Entry Draft, the Carolina Hurricanes picked the Colts Centre on Friday night in Vancouver.

The London product was ranked 18th overall among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting.

The 18-year-old alternate captain with the Colts led the team with 25 goals and 50 assists for 75 points in 65 games.

Suzuki’s older brother, Nick, is a prospect with the Montreal Canadiens.
