Looks like the message is getting through to be safe on the waters

Ontario Provincial Police applauding those following the rules on the waters.

Recent water safety program promotions such as “I got caught wearing my lifejacket” help reinforce the importance of wearing your lifejacket while on the water with the younger population.

Don’t Wear These On The Water

These lifejackets or Personal Flotation Devices (PFD) shouldn’t be used as they are not tested to the following standards

  • Transport Canada
  • Canadian Coast Guard
  • Fisheries and Oceans Canada

Partnership To Further The Cause

McDonald’s restaurants in Midland and Elmvale are teaming up with the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police and the Parks Canada Warden Service.

Marine officers on patrol routinely stop vessels and check for proper equipment based on the size of vessel and number of occupants along with checking for signs of operator impairment by drugs or alcohol.
