Barrie police say a knife-point robbery at a Circle K convenience store at 149 St. Vincent Street at Penetang Street just after 3:30 Monday morning does not appear to be connected to armed robberies at two other Circle K’s at the weekend.
In this latest incident, the male suspect is described as white, about 5’6″ and he was wearing a red hoodie and white shoes.
Investigators do believe armed robberies at a Circle K on Duckworth Street early Saturday morning and another on Ferndale Drive later that night are connected.
“If people look closely at the pictures, there is a significant resemblance in every one of the postings that we’ve put out with regards to these,” said police spokesperson Peter Leon.
Leon said one of the store cameras picked up the fact the suspect police are seeking for the weekend occurrences had the tattoo 187 on the back of his right calf.
In both weekend robberies, the suspect was armed with a knife.
Police are grateful nobody was injured in these robberies.
“Circle K has undertaken a great learning curve,” said Leon “when it comes to these types of occurrences. Their staff are trained very well.”
“At the end of the day, it’s only merchandise and only money. Those are all things that can be replaced.”
