Google is making changes to its Meet video conferencing platform with a new feature that doesn’t exist on Zoom.
While taking virtual meetings can be convenient, there are clearly some problems. Background noise is one of them.
It’s a distraction. Sounds of children playing, heavy breathing, typing, fidgeting and eating are all picked up by your microphone. It can be frustrating when you’re trying to get down to business.
Enter Google Meet. The tech giant announced its new active noise cancellation feature on Tuesday.
You can see a sample of the feature in the video below.
The technology uses an AI-powered machine that learns to process your sound via Google Cloud and then reduces any background noise.
Google says the technology will be made available for Education and Enterprise G Suite customers first.
