The South Simcoe Police Traffic Unit was kept busy over the weekend.
A number of impaired-driving related charges were laid over the weekend. Police have provided a few examples:
“-A 67-year-old Innisfil woman was charged with Over 80 and Driving While Under Suspension after officers located a vehicle stopped on St. Johns Road in Innisfil facing north in the southbound lane.
-A 50-year-old Innisfil woman was charged with Impaired Operation and Over 80 after police were called about a vehicle driving erratically without its lights on in the Innisfil Beach Road and 20th Sideroad area of Alcona. Breath tests resulted in readings of more than double the legal limit of alcohol.
-A 25-year-old Innisfil woman was charged with Impaired Operation and Over 80 after police received a call about a vehicle driving erratically at a high rate of speed that ended up striking a small tree in the 20th Sideroad and Lormel Gate area of Innisfil. There were no injuries.”
South Simcoe Police is extending a thanks to anyone who may have called in reports of impaired or erratic driving; in calling 911, police say you’re helping to stop a crime-in-progress.
