Two suspects sought following reports of assaults against “a number of people” in Barrie

Three people assaulted by pair, according to investigators

Barrie Police are looking for two suspects after three people were assaulted near Anne and Dunlop Streets.

A police spokesperson confirms a woman was walking south along Anne Street, just past Dunlop, at about 9 p.m. on July 17 when she was approached by two suspects and assaulted. Police say a Good Samaritan tried to intervene and was also assaulted by the two suspects. Investigators couldn’t speculate as to the reason why.

A third individual left a nearby establishment to help break up the fight, but they too were assaulted. Police were called shortly after, but the suspects had left the area. The first two victims suffered what police describe as minor injuries, while the third victim was unhurt.
