The Ontario Fire Marshal is probing the cause of an explosion and fire at a home on Crescent Harbour near Mapleview Drive in Innisfil.
Brent Thomas, Fire Chief of Innisfil Fire & Rescue Services, said they were contacted at around 1:45 a.m. on Saturday.
He said thankfully nobody was at the residence, though a second home on the same property immediately caught fire.
"Both homes are loss," he added.
Three people in the house that caught fire were able to get out safely.
Another home sustained heat damage.
