An overnight fire at Triple M Metal, a recycling plant at 220 John Street in Barrie, is under investigation.

A Barrie fire department spokesman told Barrie 360 that crews were called to the blaze around 3:40 Tuesday morning. As firefighters were about to enter a portion of the building, part of the roof collapsed, but nobody was injured.

The spokesperson said the blaze was in an attached metal recycling area and a firewall separates that portion of the building from the main structure.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Davis said the cause and cost to repair are unknown at this time.
