Make It Your Most Interesting Year Yet

The start of the new year is just around the corner. Naturally around this time of year, we pause for reflection on our past year and think about what we want to make of the next one.

No matter what your goals or resolutions are for 2019, enjoy it. Barrie 360 will be by your side to keep things fun, interesting and most of all... memorable.

Here's a list of ideas, in Barrie or close by, to get the ball rollin' on a killer year.

1. Polar Plunge

Brave enough to face the icy cold waters of Lake Simcoe in the middle of the winter? What if we told you it's for a good cause?

On March 2nd, Barrie will be hosting the annual Polar Plunge event. Individuals must either pay a registration fee or collect a minimum total of donations from the community in order to participate. Proceeds will go to the Law Enforcement Torch Run benefitting Special Olympics Ontario.

It's time to get "freezin' for a reason".

2. Skydiving... Indoors?

You can cheat the bucket list a little bit with this one. Get skydiving crossed off your list without the commitment of jumping from a plane.

IFly in Toronto is the place to be for indoor skydiving. Experience the thrill and fun of defying gravity in a safe and secure environment.

3. Become a Mermaid For A Day

Yes, you read that correctly. Mermaid school is real and making its way across Canada, the States, and even into Costa Rica.

Just over an hour outside of Barrie you can visit AquaMermaid for lessons in Mermaid 101. The activity is described as both artistic expression and a fun way to keep fit.

Aquamermaid also offers bookings for parties at their place or yours. Now that would be a party to remember!

4. Take A Unique Art Class (4 Cats)

4Cats Art Studio is a great place explore your creativity. They offer workshops/classes in painting, pottery, pouring and more.

5. Harbourfront Skate Nights

Every Saturday night (weather permitting) until February 16th 2019, The Harbourfront Centre hosts DJ Skate Nights. The events are held from 8 pm-11 pm and feature a live DJ, funky lights and gorgeous views of Toronto.

You'll have to make a short drive outside of Barrie but the event is free! Who knew you could have parties outside in the winter too?

6. Take the Leap of Faith

This time we mean it literally. Jack's Urban Jungle is a new indoor playground for people of all ages. There are a number of exciting activities including zorbing, trampolining, zipling, slacklining, aerial course, obstacle course, cargo net wall and more!

If your New Year's resolution is all about taking risks and facing fears, you've got to try the "Leap of Faith". Take a jump into thin air, controlled by a mechanical device and harness attachment.

7. Tough Mudder

Are you up for the challenge? Tough Mudder is an obstacle course event that will make you sweat, laugh and possibly cry all at once.

You can choose from 3 different versions of the course including a 13 obstacle course, 25 obstacle course and competitive race.

8. Hold A Python

Get up close and personal with all sorts of exotic animals with the help of ZooTek.

9. Sailboat Cruise on Lake Simcoe

10. Escape Room
