He was further arrested on an outstanding warrant from a police service in western Canada about an investigation there.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody.

A 30-year-old man who was a passenger in the vehicle was arrested on outstanding warrants from a neighbouring police service. He was transferred into custody of the other police service.
