One person taken to trauma centre after 2-vehicle crash in Tay Township

One person was taken to a trauma centre following a two-vehicle crash in Tay Township.

Southern Georgian Bay OPP say around 5:15 Saturday afternoon, they responded to a report of a collision involving two vehicles with a total of four occupants at the intersection of Vasey Road and Old Fort Road, east of Waverly. One person was reported to be unconscious.

 A 65-year-old Wasaga Beach woman was taken to an area hospital and then to a GTA trauma hospital. Three other people were transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries and then released.

Police say an investigation revealed a southbound RAV4 Toyota collided with a 1959 Pontiac Catalina that was travelling westbound on Vasey Road at the time.

According to police, the driver of the Toyota, a 47-year-old Richmond Hill man, was charged with careless driving.
