Barrie is once again hosting the Troubadour Festival at Meridian Place Amphitheater June 24 & 25, 2022. This family-friendly music festival started in 2018 and attracts audiences from across the province.
Every year, the Troubadour Festival spotlights Canadian songwriters. This year, the open-air concert at Meridian Place will include performances by 7 multi-genre Canadian artists.

Josh Bogert
When: Friday, June 24, 2022 at 6 PM
Josh Bogert is a 21 year old songwriter from Vanouver who combines complex rhythms and melodies with lyrics based on his real-life experiences.
His love of music started at a very young age. When he was 4 years old, he began learning classical violin and soon expanded to singing, guitar, sax, drums and piano. He also has a natural talent for DJing, music production and engineering.
The Shitty Beatles
When: Friday, June 24, 2022 at 7 PM
With a name inspired by Wayne’s World, this tribute band is anything but Shitty.
The group started when long-time friends took their house party jams and love of the Beatles to the stage. This tribute covers the deep cuts, A-sides, Hamburg years, and everything in between
Dwayne Gretzky
When: Friday, June 24, 2022 at 8:30 PM
This 10+ piece ensemble serves up the greatest songs of all time with a side of fidelity and theatrical flair. Their covers include over 700 classic pop and rock hits from Fleetwood Mac to Fatboy Slim.
Dwayne Gretzky started in 2011 and has played hundreds of shows. Just last year, they released their first album, which splices together styles and genres to showcase the band's talents.
PONY
When: Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 4 PM
This Toronto power-pop act’s sound is driven by Sam Bielanski, the band’s vocalist and guitarist. PONY combines the cheekiness of the 80s, the self-resilience of the 90s, and modern production.
The band started releasing singles in 2017. Their first album, TV Baby, released last year and was dedicated to “the indoor cats, the introverts, and those who value their independence above anything else”.
Lydia Persuad
When: Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 6 PM
Soul songstress Lydia Persuad has been described by her producer, Scott McCannell, as:
“Roberta Flack sitting in with Bill Withers' band at a folk festival”
Lydia and Scott wanted to create “something new while preserving the classic warmth of the 70s soul and jazz sounds we love.” That dream turned into a sound that’s full of soul, with stylings from jazz, R&B and folk.
Dylan Sinclair
When: Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 7:15 PM
Dylan Sinclair is an R&B artist you won’t want to miss. He was recently named one of Apple Music and Complex’s R&B Artists to Watch and is getting ready to release a new EP.
As Dylan transitions from teenager to young adult, his music remains grounded and authentic.
Natalie McMaster & Donnell Leahy

Natalie McMaster & Donnell Leahy are Canada’s reigning couple of Celtic music. Married in 2002, the couple were already well-known as individual artists. But their merger created something even more spectacular.
As their family grew, their children also became part of the show. Now the family is full of JUNO and East Coast Music Award winning talent.
