44th Barrie And District Christmas Cheer Campaign Kicks Off Today
Helping bring joy to local families in need
Barrie & District Christmas Cheer kicks off its 2018 campaign this morning with a pancake breakfast with Santa at Georgian Mall.
Christmas Cheer supports people who need help at Christmas. It’s for people who work and don’t make enough money to cover the extras at Christmas. It’s for people receiving financial assistance or no assistance at all – as many as 1750 families each year in Barrie, Innisfil, Essa and Oro-Medonte Townships. When Christmas Cheer began in 1974 there were 35 recipient families.
This year’s goal is to raise $250,000.
