OPP investigating Tiny Township house fire that injured resident, killed dog

One person is in custody following a 'suspicious' house fire in Tiny Township.

Around 6 p.m. on Sunday, emergency services responded to a reported structure fire on Macedonia Circle, located east of Penetanguishene.

Tiny Township firefighters attended and extinguished a fully engulfed house fire and a separate garage on the property.

One resident was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

A dog inside the residence died, and a neighbouring home was damaged by fire.

A short time later, officers stopped a vehicle on Golf Link Road in Tiny Township. A person was arrested in connection with the fire and remains in custody. Police said further information regarding charges will be released when it becomes available.
