OPP traffic stop in Orillia leads to 3 arrests, drug seizure

Three people face drug and other charges following a police traffic stop in Orillia.

Around 12:30 a.m. on March 3, police say an officer was patrolling in the area of West Street South and Barrie Road when they spotted an offence by a vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act.

The officer pulled the vehicle over. All passengers in the vehicle were identified and found to be in violation of criminal conditions. During the arrest, police say a quantity of suspected hydromorphone pills were located.

A 32-year-old from Orillia was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

A 43-year-old from Orillia was charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, failure to comply with a release order, and a pair of drug-related offences.

A 39-year-old from Orillia was charged with drug trafficking and failure to comply with a release order.
