An early morning conflict reportedly escalated to gun violence Sunday morning in Barrie, leading to one man suffering serious injuries and prompting a police investigation.
Police say they responded to a call around 2:45 a.m. after a reported altercation outside a Dunlop Street nightclub led to a man being shot.
The 30-year-old victim was brought to a Toronto-area trauma centre in serious, but stable condition, according to police.

Images of the alleged suspect have been obtained by police through surveillance video, and they are appealing to the public for any further information or aid in identifying them.
While the investigation is ongoing, police say it is being treated as an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
Dunlop Street East was closed between Owen Street and Mulcaster Street for the on-scene investigation.
