A motorist travelling in Bradford West Gwillimbury abruptly changed direction, according to police, in an attempt to evade officers conducting traffic enforcement.
The incident happened on Wednesday.
Police said officers conducted a traffic stop at County Road 27 and Line 3.
"The investigation revealed that the driver was suspended for unpaid fines, operating a vehicle without insurance, and displaying unauthorized licence plates," police said in a social media post.
As well, officers spotted marijuana that was readily available in the vehicle and seized multiple licence plates.
A 36-year-old from North York is facing charges.
