David B. of Barrie is celebrating after winning a $100,000 top prize with Instant Crossword Tripler.
David, who works in construction, said he enjoys playing Crossword.
“I think it's a good way to keep your mind sharp,” he shared during his visit to the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect his winnings.
The 64-year-old said he picked up this ticket on his birthday. While at home, he checked it using the OLG app.
“At first, I thought something was wrong with my phone. I scanned it about 10 times,” he recalled. “I was just blown away. I’ve never sung Happy Birthday to myself, but I did that day! That’ll be a birthday I’ll never forget, that’s for sure!”
Later on, David shared the news with his sister and brother, both of whom were very happy for him.
With his windfall, he plans to travel to Vietnam to do some sightseeing.
“There’s a cool cave there, and I’ve heard a lot of good reviews,” he said.
He also plans to set up a fund to help children in Thailand achieve their educational dreams.
“I want to continue to give wherever I can to lend a helping hand.”
