Search for driver after youth struck at crosswalk in Orillia

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are looking for the driver who fled the scene after a youth was struck at a crosswalk in Orillia.

Provincial police say it happened Friday around 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 12 West and Monarch Drive.

Investigators say the vehicle is a blue sedan. They say the driver, described as an older bald man with a large grey beard and he was wearing sunglasses, got out of the vehicle briefly, then got back in and left the scene.

There is no word from the police about any injuries to the youth.
