A routine early-morning traffic stop in Barrie led to the arrest of four individuals and the seizure of suspected drugs and cash, according to Barrie Police.

Officers were patrolling near Duckworth Street and Grove Street East around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, when they observed a vehicle “failing to stop or even slow down when entering an intersection with a red light.”

Police initiated a traffic stop, and while speaking with the driver, the officer “noticed a white powdery substance, along with suspected drug paraphernalia within the vehicle in plain sight.”

All four occupants of the vehicle were arrested on suspicion of drug possession as officers continued their investigation at the scene.
