The City of Barrie is seeking public input on the future redevelopment of Minet’s Point Park. The insights shared by the community will shape the final preferred concept and will support the future detailed design and implementation.
The Minet’s Point Park redevelopment project aligns with the City’s 2023 Waterfront Strategic Plan, which outlines a 10‑year roadmap for enhancing the waterfront along Kempenfelt Bay. The goals of the Minet’s Point Park redevelopment include:
- Improving access to the water
- Enhancing environmental and natural features
- Strengthening connections to the surrounding neighbourhood

The park redevelopment will be coordinated with other infrastructure projects impacting the Minet’s Point area, including the current project to improve the Whiskey Creek culvert and channel, and the future Minet’s Point pump station reconstruction project.
Residents are encouraged to review the two preliminary concepts and complete a corresponding online survey (open until Sunday, June 28, 2026), for the chance to win a prize.
Residents can also attend one of the upcoming in-person project information pop-up events at Minet’s Point Park (10 Lismer Blvd.), to learn more about the project:
- Wednesday, June 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Thursday, June 18 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The preliminary concepts and survey are available on the City’s community engagement platform at BuildingBarrie.ca/MinetsPointParkEngagement.
