A Barrie police officer is facing assault-related charges following an internal investigation into a disturbance call earlier this month.
Police say the incident happened on June 8 and was brought to the attention of the police chief, who launched a Chief's complaint.
The service's Professional Standards Unit investigated, and a 38-year-old officer has been charged with assault and assault causing bodily harm.
