South Simcoe Police were called around 11:25 Monday morning to a report of an active shooter in the area of 25th Sideroad between Lockhart Road and the 10th Line in Innisfil.

In the end, police say there were no injuries and no weapons were found, and they confirm there was no threat to public safety.

"The report was determined to be unsubstantiated, and no charges will be laid," police said on X.

Police added that due to the sensitive nature of the circumstances surrounding the call, no further information will be released.
