The Ontario Fire Marshal is investigating a blaze that tore through a Charlbrook Avenue home in Barrie's north end just after midnight on Monday, in the area of Bayfield Street and Cundles Road East.
Fire officials say injuries at the scene were not related to the fire itself, and Barrie Police have secured the scene.
They confirm the house was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived at the property.
According to police, two people were taken to a local hospital as a precaution for possible smoke inhalation, and one female was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are also asking for the public's help in locating a dog that went missing in the area of Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre overnight.
The owner's phone was lost in the fire so there are no photos of the dog.
The dog is described as a small grey/white mixed breed.
